Lukashenko Began Talking About Mobilization

The dictator ordered that the army be "shaken up."

At a military training ground in the Brest Region, Lukashenko delivered yet another round of bellicose rhetoric. According to him, the Belarusian army “needs to be shaken up”—to the point of testing its readiness for mobilization. “The entire army. We’ll check everyone,” the ruler threatened.

In parallel with this, inspections of tank and motorized infantry units have already taken place; now it’s the artillery brigade’s turn—the regime is once again demonstrating its readiness for a war that, according to the official line, no one plans to wage.

“We are pragmatists,” the ruler stated, explaining that it is not in his interest to fight the “monsters” along the border.

Lukashenko’s statement on mobilization readiness checks came amid yet another wave of rumors about a possible mobilization in Russia itself. Since the summer of 2026, the media has been discussing a scenario in which an additional draft could be announced after the State Duma elections (September 18–20)—tentatively in October.
