Two major oil refineries have been hit simultaneously.
On the night of September 13, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out strikes against Russian oil facilities. The "Slavyansk Eco" oil refinery in the Krasnodar Krai and the "Taneco" oil refinery in Tatarstan were targeted.
The information was officially confirmed by the Ukrainian General Staff.
Fires broke out at both plants as a result of the attack. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
The operation to strike “Slavyansk Eco” was carried out by military intelligence—the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense. According to their data, the facility sustained serious damage.
“A key oil refinery unit and the company’s tank farm—which fuels the criminal war against Ukraine—have been struck. Thick smoke and the glow from the massive fire at the Russian oil refinery are visible from dozens of kilometers away,” intelligence officers reported.
The strike on “Taneco” in Tatarstan was carried out by Ukrainian Special Operations Forces. The UAVs flew about 1,200 km before hitting their target.
“Taneco” is one of Russia’s largest and most modern oil refineries. Its designed capacity exceeds 16 million metric tons per year… The refinery’s output meets the needs of the Russian Armed Forces, while its exports replenish the aggressor’s military budget,” the Special Operations Forces stated.
According to the General Staff, a fire was reported in one of the fuel tanks at “Taneco.”
