Aviation will be the main advantage.
If Russia were to attack Poland, the Polish side would achieve victory fairly quickly, said Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski. According to him, Poland and other European countries have a significant advantage over Russia in the field of aviation.
He stated this during the discussion “Can Europe, Together with Ukraine, Contain Russia?”, which was held on September 12 by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and the Yalta European Strategy as part of the annual YES meeting in Kyiv.
“We have an advantage over Russia in aviation. If the Ukrainians managed to take half of Russia’s oil refining capacity out of commission in six months, we could do it in six weeks and destroy the remaining half,” Sikorski said.

Sikorski noted that the Baltic states and Northern European countries collectively have a military budget that exceeds Russia’s. At the same time, he emphasized that Europe does not currently possess full defense sovereignty and will not achieve it in the near future.
According to the Polish minister, the European Union remains a confederation, and there is no consensus on transitioning to a federation. At the same time, he stated that even without the United States, Europe has a significant advantage over Russia in the air.
