Russian Attack Drones Have Swarmed Into Belarus

At least 10 drones crossed the border over the past 24 hours.
For the first time in a year, a large-scale incursion of Russian attack drones into the Gomel Region was recorded over the course of a single day. This hasn’t happened in exactly a year—only isolated incidents have been recorded in recent months. The last time there were mass simultaneous incursions was in early September 2025, according to “Flagstok”.
And now, on September 12–13, according to “Flagstok’s” estimates and updated data, at least 10 Russian drones violated Belarusian airspace.
During Russia’s massive attack on Saturday at approximately 11:00 a.m., the first drone incursions into Belarus began. At that time, one of them was already flying toward Ukraine, and an hour later, two drones entered the Gomel region and were heading toward Narovlya and Lelchitsy. Then two more were moving toward Mozyr. Around 2:00 p.m., another pair of Russian drones entered the Gomel region. Half an hour later, another drone was detected.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on September 13, one drone was recorded departing from Belarus; at around 10:40 a.m., another one was recorded.
Most of the drones flew back to Ukraine, but there is no precise information yet on all the drones that intruded into Belarus.
According to the Ukrainian monitoring channel eRadar, these were generally not jet-powered drones but classic “Gerani” models with an engine that sounds like a moped.
Most often, the drones crossed the southern border of the Gomel Region and were heading toward Mozyr, Narovlya, and Lelchitsy.
According to eRadar, two drones were detected around 1:45 p.m. in the Mozyr District, 20 kilometers from the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.
In addition, a resident of the Petrikov District reported hearing the characteristic sound of “Shaheds” in the sky from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., as well as the sound of a jet engine. It is possible that the drones were being pursued by fighter jets.
The drone flights were linked to Russia’s massive attack on western regions of Ukraine amid foggy weather conditions.
