Epidemiologists have revealed the details.
During the upcoming flu season, three viruses will be circulating simultaneously in the country, warned the Republican Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Public Health (RCHEPH).
According to experts’ forecasts, non-influenza respiratory viruses, influenza viruses, and SARS-CoV-2 are expected to circulate simultaneously during the current 2026–2027 season.
Non-influenza respiratory viruses (parainfluenza viruses, adenoviruses, rhinoviruses, RS viruses, bocaviruses, seasonal coronaviruses, and metapneumoviruses) are currently being detected in the country.
“The epidemiological situation regarding acute respiratory infections (ARI) is stable and under control, as is typical for this time of year,” the Russian Center for Epidemiology and Public Health assured.
Healthcare organizations are finalizing preparations for the annual vaccination campaign against influenza and COVID-19.
For the 2026–2027 season, the viral strain composition of influenza vaccines has been fully updated for all three components in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
The Russian vaccine “Konvasel” will be available for vaccination against COVID-19. “Grippol Plus” (Russia) will be used for flu vaccinations at public expense.
