SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket carrying a classified payload on behalf of the U.S. Space Force. This was stated in a company announcement on social media platform X.

The launch took place on September 16 at 6:07 p.m. local time.

“The Falcon 9 launched on mission USSF-259 from Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California,” the statement said.

This is already the 13th flight conducted for U.S. Space Force missions. Mission USSF-259 is classified, and no information has been released about the rocket’s payload.
