Ukraine Has Terminated Yet Another Agreement With Belarus

This refers to a notification of a nuclear accident.

Ukraine has terminated its agreement with the “government” of Belarus on prompt notification of nuclear accidents and cooperation in the field of radiation safety. The Ukrainian government adopted the relevant resolution on September 17.

The agreement was signed on October 16, 2001, in Kyiv. It provided for cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus in the field of radiation safety and prompt notification of nuclear accidents.

According to the resolution, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine must notify the Government of Belarus of the termination of the agreement in accordance with established procedures.
