Trump Announced That A Deal Had Been Reached With Denmark Regarding Greenland

The agreement gives Washington ongoing oversight of security and investments.
President Donald Trump stated that the U.S., Denmark, and Greenland have reached an agreement that grants Washington permanent control over security in Greenland.
This was reported by Charter97.org, citing his post on Truth Social.
“At my direction, we have been working with representatives from Denmark and Greenland to ensure that the U.S. will forever have the full ability to do whatever is necessary in Greenland to ensure the security of Greenland and the United States of America,” Trump wrote.
According to him, from this point forward, “no adversary of the U.S. will ever be able to have a base in Greenland, a military presence,” or make investments without Washington’s direct written consent.
For its part, the United States will immediately begin the process of establishing a major military presence in Greenland.
“This is a ‘lifetime’ agreement—it has no end! We are very proud of what has just happened, and everything achieved today will be highly valued by the American people,” the U.S. leader wrote.
In summary, Trump added that the U.S. looks forward to the opportunity to cooperate with the people of Denmark and Greenland “for a magnificent future, with respect for this vast and strategically important piece of land.”
“This is a dream come true for the U.S.—one that is very important, historic, and special,” the White House chief concluded.
As a reminder, after returning to the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump once again began pushing the idea that Denmark transfer Greenland to U.S. control.
In January of this year, he stated that he demanded the island be transferred to U.S. control for the construction of the “Golden Dome” missile defense system. According to Trump, if NATO does not act immediately, then Greenland could be seized by Russia or China.
That same month, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said that Greenland should become part of the United States as part of the American security system. Furthermore, he did not rule out the possibility of a military takeover of the island.
