An Estonian Citizen Attacked An Airport Employee In Berlin

According to German media reports, a 22-year-old Estonian citizen attacked an employee at Berlin Airport in early September, writes Delfi.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on the evening of September 6 at the boarding gate at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. Two passengers from Estonia missed their airBaltic flight to Tallinn and were not allowed to board.

Afterward, the 22-year-old passenger attacked a 48-year-old airport employee and struck him multiple times with great force. As a result of the attack, the victim lost consciousness and sustained serious injuries. He has since been discharged from the hospital, but he required two surgeries due to a diagnosed orbital fracture. The beating lasted about three minutes.

According to the German publication *Bild*, the main assailant was 22-year-old Kaspar, and his accomplice was 36-year-old Roland. The only information available about Kaspar from public sources is that he is from Pärnu and played soccer in his youth. Roland, meanwhile, was convicted three years ago of raping a sleeping woman and is currently on probation until 2028.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the Delfi news portal that they had not been notified of the incident and that Kaspar had not contacted them for assistance. The Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) told Delfi that they had been in contact with German investigators, but since the investigation is being conducted in Germany, they are not authorized to comment on the case.
