Operation "Vivaldi": The Ukrainian Armed Forces Have Liberated New Settlements In The North Of Donetsk Oblast

The Ukrainian military continues its offensive in the north of Donetsk Oblast as part of Operation "Vivaldi". Over the past week, the Defense Forces have made further advances, specifically clearing and liberating populated areas.
This was reported by the Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of the Third Army Corps Petro Gorbatenko during an appearance on "Suspilne Studio".
According to him, soldiers from the corps and other units of the Defense Forces operating in the Lyman sector are continuing their offensive as part of the first phase of Operation “Vivaldi.”
The Russian army’s losses—in terms of killed, wounded, and captured—exceed expectations.
“We’ve also continued to advance over the past week. Accordingly, we will soon provide you with new details on the conduct of the operation and new results regarding its successes. We are continuing to advance. The figure that was previously announced is just one number; it will increase over time,” said Gorbatenko.
He noted that new information regarding our successes and the liberated settlements will continue to come in, but not everything can be disclosed or discussed.
“The enemy has been defeated and disorganized in this sector. They are trying to deploy special operations units there to plug the breach, but they’re simply grinding them down to ‘mincemeat’ without achieving any success,” the deputy commander added.
The military official stated that, in addition to the officially confirmed liberation of Srednye and the mopping-up operation in Korovyi Yar, Novoselivka, Yarova, and Oleksandrivka, the Ukrainian military had managed to clear Rai-Oleksandrivka and other settlements, which they cannot yet disclose for tactical reasons.
“There are also other liberated villages, but we are not naming them because we cannot afford to let the enemy’s stupidity and self-deception work against us. “That’s why we have to keep some things secret for now,” he noted.
According to Gorbatenko, Russian forces are trying to counter the offensive but are suffering even heavier casualties. In addition to infantry attacks, the occupiers are shelling the units’ rear-area towns in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.
“The Russians’ tactics, on the whole, haven’t changed. These are simply ‘meat-grinder’ assaults, as well as massive strikes on rear areas, especially large population centers with significant local populations, such as Izyum, Balakliya, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk. The enemy is carrying out missile and bombing strikes using aircraft and ‘Shahed’ drones,” he said.
Operation ‘Vivaldi’
As a reminder, the Third Army Corps launched the “Vivaldi” offensive operation in the north of the Donetsk region. It is already known that several settlements have been cleared of enemy forces.
In particular, Ukrainian troops drove the Russians out of the village of Srednee without suffering any casualties, completely clearing the settlement and taking it under their control.
In addition, the Defense Forces managed to liberate an area larger than Zhytomyr. During the fighting, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated a concealed enemy force and established a bridgehead for a further offensive in the region.
