A new post by the U.S. president has noticeably shifted the tone of his statements on Iran.

U.S. President Donald Trump has effectively called on Iranians to rise up against their government. Against the backdrop of a war with Iran, he asked when the people would rise up and begin to fight.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a post by Donald Trump on Truth Social.

U.S. President Donald Trump has rejected claims that his current strategy is to force Iran back to the negotiating table.

According to the U.S. leader, reaching a potential agreement with Tehran is not his top priority at this time.

“I don’t care if they sign a deal they consider worthless,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The U.S. president stated that he prefers Washington’s current position. In particular, he mentioned nearly complete control over the Strait of Hormuz and the impact of the pressure on the Iranian economy.

“I much prefer our current position, with nearly complete control over the Strait of Hormuz and the complete collapse of their economy. They’re just playing out the inevitable,” he added.

A Message to the Iranian People

Against the backdrop of the ongoing standoff, Trump also touched on the issue of possible opposition by the Iranian people against the authorities. The U.S. president asked directly when the Iranians would begin to fight back.

“When will the Iranian people rise up and start fighting?” Trump asks.

Earlier, Trump had already called on Iranians to seize government buildings once the bombings stopped.

At the same time, he warned of the risks of such a scenario, noting that unarmed demonstrators would be no match for the armed supporters of the Iranian regime who are cracking down on protesters.
