The operation was carried out right outside the home of a high-ranking terrorist.

During an operation in Gaza City, Israeli special forces captured a Hamas commander who headed the group’s internal security apparatus. He was previously known as Muein al-Arabid.

This was reported by The Times of Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the Hamas commander captured in Gaza City was the head of the terrorist group’s internal security apparatus.

“I commend the Shin Bet and the Israel Defense Forces, who today, in a daring operation, arrested the head of Hamas’s internal security apparatus near his home in Gaza,” Netanyahu’s statement reads.

According to the prime minister, the captured officer is one of Hamas’s most senior leaders, responsible for hiding and moving hostages, sheltering the group’s high-ranking officials, building up its forces, and attempting to restore the terrorist organization’s capabilities.

“Recently, he participated in efforts to restore Hamas’s control in Gaza, deceived the public regarding the demilitarization of the Strip, and assisted in carrying out terrorist attacks against our forces and civilian population,” Netanyahu added.

He emphasized that Israel will continue to pursue all Hamas leaders and everyone who participated in the October 7 massacre.
