It was Yulle Madize.

Members of the Estonian Parliament have elected Chancellor of Justice Yulle Madize as the country's new president, according to Delfi.

Madize was the only candidate for the office of head of state. In a secret ballot held by members of parliament on September 2, she received 71 out of 78 votes. The official inauguration of Estonia’s new president is expected in mid-October 2026, following the expiration of the term of the current president Alar Karis.

Yulle Madise, 51, previously worked at the Ministry of Justice, the Parliament’s Constitutional Committee, as Auditor General of the National Audit Office, and as legal advisor to the president. She has served as Chancellor of Justice since 2015 and was reelected to that position for a second term at the end of 2021.
