State Border Service Of Ukraine: The Threat From Belarus Persists

  • 2.09.2026, 15:41

Ukraine continues to establish defensive lines in the north.

Defense forces are reinforcing fortifications and minefields along the most dangerous sectors. This was stated during a briefing by the press secretary of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko, as reported by "Ukrinform".

According to Demchenko, the situation on the Belarusian front remains largely unchanged for now.

“We still do not observe any formations or buildup of any kind in the immediate vicinity of our border on Belarusian territory. That is not the case. At the same time, however, the risk of a threat from Belarus remains,” noted a representative of the State Border Guard Service.

Against the backdrop of this ongoing threat, Ukraine continues to fortify its defensive lines. This involves expanding engineering and fortification works, as well as laying minefields and explosive barriers in the most vulnerable areas.

“All of this is being carried out by both units of the State Border Guard Service and other components of our country’s defense forces. And local authorities are also actively involved in this work,” added Demchenko.
