The Ukrainian Armed Forces Announced The Destruction Of A MiG-29 Fighter Jet In The Rostov Region

Ukrainian defense forces have confirmed the destruction of a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet near the Millerovo airfield in the Rostov Region—the attack took place on August 27.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Wednesday, September 2.

According to updated information, in addition to the MiG-29, the destruction of a Ka-27 helicopter has also been confirmed—it was shot down on August 30 near the Yeysk airfield in the Krasnodar Region.

On September 1 and during the night of September 2, units of the Defense Forces struck a number of other military targets. In Vladimirovka, Donetsk Oblast, an enemy ammunition depot was struck, and in Ocheretino, in the same oblast, a logistics depot belonging to a unit of the occupying forces was struck.

In Rechitsa, Bryansk Oblast, Russia, an area where enemy weapons and military equipment were concentrated was struck.

The extent of the damage is being assessed, and operations against key enemy military targets are continuing.

The MiG-29 is a Soviet fourth-generation multi-role fighter. It is designed to engage and destroy all types of air targets using guided missiles and an onboard cannon, as well as to engage ground targets using unguided munitions. It is capable of speeds up to 2,450 km/h and has a combat radius of 700 km.
