The suspects have been detained.

In France, an 18-year-old man—who was already in custody for pimping and robbery—is suspected of organizing a series of robberies and attempted kidnappings between April and August 2026. Among those the gang planned to target were businessmen, a rapper, and Kylian Mbappé, a forward for Real Madrid and the French national team, according to Le Parisien.

On August 21, a man named Clément was charged with organized armed robbery; he attempted to challenge his arrest and placement in solitary confinement, but during the appeal hearing on September 2, a representative of the prosecutor’s office stated that the defendant was “implicated in a new case involving a well-known rapper and soccer player.”

A source for the newspaper reported that the gang leader was giving orders to his accomplices by phone from prison. In the seized phones, police found 26 addresses of wealthy singers, soccer players, and businessmen.

Previously, courts had handed down sentences against this man in cases involving drugs and robbery with violence.

Mbappé, the all-time leading scorer in World Cup history, has been playing for Real Madrid since 2024.
