Ukraine's missile and drone strike paralyzed air traffic in Moscow. Hundreds of flights were canceled or rescheduled. Dialog.UA looked into the details.

Due to the attack, the “Kover” emergency plan was immediately activated at Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo airports. Aircraft were prohibited from taking off or landing. Flights headed for the Russian capital were forced to turn back or fly to other airports.

At Sheremetyevo alone, 50 flights were canceled, and about 200 were delayed by 4 hours or more. Airports are overflowing with passengers.

On the night of September 20, Ukraine launched the largest drone-and-missile strike on Moscow and the Moscow Region since the start of the full-scale war.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that 1,600 UAVs were intercepted, while the Russian Ministry of Defense reported 1,100. The main targets of the attack were the Moscow Oil Refinery, a thermal power plant, and a large warehouse complex.
