The Left Party (LP) has won the election to the Berlin House of Representatives (state parliament). This was reported by the television network ARD, citing exit poll data.

The report notes that the Left Party is garnering about 24.5% of the vote, while the Christian Democratic Union (CDU)—the party of Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz—is at 20%.

Third place goes to the far-right “Alternative for Germany” with 16% of the vote, followed by the “Greens” with 15% and the Social Democratic Party of Germany with 12%. “Sara Wagenknecht’s Alliance” receives 5% of the vote.
