A Proposal Has Been Made In Moldova To Completely Stop Exports To Belarus

The minister explained why Chisinau needs to take this step.

Moldova’s Minister of Agriculture Eugeniu Osmokescu has called for a complete halt to exports of goods to Belarus and Russia, according to the publication “KP in Moldova”.

Emphasizing that this was his “personal opinion,” the minister stated that halting shipments would demonstrate Chisinau’s “full commitment” to the West’s sanctions policy toward the two countries.

“We must take into account that we have exporters to these two markets—more to Belarus than to Russia,” Osmocescu noted.

He noted that such companies would suffer as a result of the export ban, so the Moldovan authorities “must develop a program to support them and help them enter the European Union market.”
