Three Major Media Outlets Have Filed A Lawsuit Against Trump

They are demanding that journalists be granted access to the White House again.

Three media outlets—whose journalists were barred from the White House last week—are filing a lawsuit against President Donald Trump and three of his top advisers, according to Politico reports.

On Monday, September 21, Politico, CNN, and MS NOW announced that they are filing a federal lawsuit seeking the immediate restoration of access for their reporters, who were denied entry to the White House complex on Saturday, September 19.

“This morning, we notified the government that we are filing a lawsuit to protect our rights guaranteed by the First Amendment and to uphold the principle that the government has no right to decide what the press should report or publish,” they stated.

The organizations emphasized that “without warning or due process, the White House revoked the journalists’ credentials because it disagreed with their reporting.”

“If left unchallenged, this will threaten press freedom and the public’s right to independent journalism, free from government interference,” they added.

The organizations are now asking a U.S. District Court judge in Washington, D.C., to rule as soon as possible that Trump’s ban is unconstitutional and to prevent his aides from enforcing it.

Representatives from the White House and the Department of Justice have not yet commented on this.
