Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gar Støre presented New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani with a T-shirt autographed by the star of London’s “Arsenal” and captain of the Norwegian national team Martin Ødegaard.

“I’m in New York for the UN General Assembly. I’ve had many great meetings—here I am with Mamdani. I brought a little piece of Norway with me,” Støre wrote on Instagram, posting a photo showing Mamdani posing with the shirt autographed by Ødegaard and himself wearing a New York City FC jersey.

“It was my uncle who introduced me to the team [Arsenal]. I was born in Kampala, Uganda, in East Africa, and my father’s family is from East Africa. “Arsenal” was one of the first teams to have several African players: Lauren, Kolo Touré, Nwankwo Kanu, Emmanuel Eboué, and Alex Song. Over the years, [then-manager] Arsène Wenger really changed the face of English soccer. As a Ugandan kid watching that team, I was so proud,” Mamdani said.
