The Kremlin stated that it had not heard about Volodymyr Zelenskyy's refusal to visit Moscow. This was how Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, responded to the viral response by the Ukrainian president to a Russian journalist in New York.

Vladimir Putin’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, commented on Vladimir Zelenskyy’s remarks about a possible visit to Moscow.

“First of all, Zelenskyy did not refuse to travel to Moscow. At least, I haven’t heard anything to that effect. He’s currently making a lot of statements on the sidelines of the General Assembly in New York. As for a ceasefire, we reiterate: we are open to a peaceful settlement. We believe we should strive for peace, not a temporary truce,” he said.

This reaction was triggered by a brief conversation on September 23 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. As the Ukrainian president and his entourage were walking past journalists, a Russian reporter in the crowd shouted out a question: “When are you coming to Moscow?”

Without hesitation, Zelenskyy replied, “On a rocket, f*ck.” A video of this moment was published by Clash Report, and the clip instantly went viral on social media, garnering a wave of approving comments in the Ukrainian segment of the internet.

Previously, the Kremlin had repeatedly stated that a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin could only take place in Moscow.
