Poland Evacuated Two Border Crossings Due To Russian Shelling

Prime Minister Tusk revealed the details.

Poland was forced to evacuate people from two border crossings due to Russian attacks on western Ukraine. This was stated by the country’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk, according to Rzeczpospolita.

“This is a true tragedy of our time, and this is not the first time I have spoken with one of our partners here in Warsaw about how aggressively Russia is behaving and what problems it is causing, including for Poland, and right at this very moment, the Russians are deciding to prove it,” Tusk said at a joint press conference with Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev.

According to him, due to the Russian attack on western Ukraine, the border crossings in Hrubieszów and Dorohusk had to be evacuated.

“We (Bulgaria and I) have a clear, shared position. This war must end as soon as possible, not on the aggressor’s terms, but on fair terms, so that peace can be lasting,” Tusk continued.
He also noted that there is currently no evidence that Putin is ready to take such a step.

This is not the first such incident. On the morning of September 23, the border crossings in Dorohusk and Zosin were temporarily evacuated due to an air raid alert.

On September 13, a Russian drone attacked the locomotive of the Kyiv–Warsaw passenger train approximately two kilometers from the Polish border. Shortly before the strike, a special train carrying European politicians and diplomats had traveled along the same route. Among its passengers were former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the German Chancellor’s advisor on foreign policy and security, Günter Zaetter.
