A job opening for a sales associate at “Pershy Natsionalny Gandloovy Dom” sparked a storm of emotions among Belarusians.
Belarusachka is looking for a “mobile sales consultant” for its brand store in the “First National Department Store.” The company posted this announcement on Threads. Along with the job responsibilities, the post also specifies the salary promised to the candidate during the first three months of the probationary period. Judging by the comments, the amount came as an unpleasant surprise to many, writes “Zerkalo”.
The ad states that a sales consultant is needed for full-time work from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The primary work location is the “First National Department Store,” but there is the possibility of working at the “Globo” and “Stolitsa” shopping centers as well.
“Please read carefully, without making value judgments. “We are proceeding based on the resources we have available,” writes a company representative before addressing the financial aspects of the position. The ad further states that the salary will be 1,300 rubles before taxes, meaning the employee will take home even less.
“It is set for a probationary period of up to three months; thereafter, the amount may (that is, it’s not a certainty—Ed.) be revised,” the company stated honestly.
Commenters couldn’t resist making “judgmental remarks” after the amount was announced:
