The IDF reported that late last week, in the Gaza City area, an airstrike killed Mahmoud Abd al-Fattah Awad, commander of the military wing of the terrorist organization Hamas, reports the IDF Spokesperson’s Office.

According to the army, during the war, Awad was involved in holding seven Israeli hostages captive in an underground tunnel near Gaza City: Daniela Gilboa, Karina Ariev, Doron Steinbrecher, Naama Levi, Ziv Berman, Omri Miran and Eitan Mora.
