The EU has agreed on the terms for allocating 6.6 billion euros from the Peace Fund to Ukraine.

EU member states have agreed on the terms for allocating 6.6 billion euros to Ukraine from the European Peace Fund. The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas wrote about this on her X, according to "European Pravda".

Kallas emphasized that this is “good news for Ukraine and bad news for Russia.”

According to her, 900 million euros are earmarked for the EU Mission to provide military assistance to Ukraine.

Another billion euros will go toward financing new joint equipment procurements.

And 4.7 billion euros will go toward reimbursing member states, some of which have already stated that they will redirect their share to support Ukraine, the head of European diplomacy reported.

“Moscow’s hybrid attacks are aimed at intimidating Europe into reducing its support for Ukraine. Europe, however, is doing the opposite,” Kallas concluded.

The final decision is to be made by the defense ministers of EU member states at the EU Council meeting on Monday.

At the same time, the question of how the 4.7 billion will be distributed among member states—and what portion of that amount will be allocated to Ukraine—remains unresolved.
