A Retiree From Kletsk Exchanged Messages With A Fake Elon Musk Over Tesla

A woman wanted to pay an American billionaire 500 rubles to have her car delivered.

A resident of the Kletsk District exchanged messages with Elon Musk about a Tesla. The Internal Affairs Department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee explained how it all ended.

The pensioner began corresponding on social media with a fake Elon Musk. For about ten days, the scammers messaged her from fake TikTok and WhatsApp accounts belonging to the billionaire, signed “Elon mvsk.”

The scammers managed to convince the Belarusian woman that she had supposedly won a Tesla and a large sum of money. The pensioner believed them and was ready to pay 500 rubles for the prize to be delivered.

Fortunately, at the bank branch in Kletsk, where the woman went to make the transfer, she was talked out of it and the police were called.
