A Russian man, erik_belekov, had long considered our country to be a region of the Russian Federation. But after visiting Belarus, he changed his mind.

“About 10 years ago, I didn’t know where Belarus was,” he writes. “I thought it was some kind of region of the Russian Federation. I was young and bad at geography.”
