The Canadian Prime Minister Called On Trump To Stop "producing Memes"

Mark Carney called on the U.S. president to engage in serious negotiations.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called on the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump to “stop trying to flex its muscles” and to “stop producing memes,” according to AP.

Carney stated that trade negotiations between the U.S. and Canada could resume if Washington takes them seriously.

At the same time, he accused the United States of imposing conditions that, he said, could lead to Canadian industries “gradually winding down in Canada and being destroyed.”

“When Americans stop producing memes, stop making snide remarks, and stop trying to flex their muscles—and instead take these discussions seriously—then we’ll be able to have them,” said the Canadian prime minister.
