Polish Fighter Jets Intercepted A Russian Reconnaissance Aircraft

This is the second such incident this week.
Poland's Minister of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz reported another incident over the Baltic Sea involving a Russian reconnaissance aircraft.
The minister wrote about this on social media X.
Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that Polish airspace had not been violated, but that the Russian aircraft posed a threat to civil aviation.
“Another incident over the Baltic Sea involving a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft. 40 km north of Ustka, our fighter jets intercepted a Russian aircraft that did not have its identification transponders activated and posed a threat to civilian aviation. There was no violation of Polish airspace,” — wrote the Polish minister.
This is already the second such incident this week. Earlier, on Monday, August 31, Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft 30 km north of the city of Łeba.
