Air Traffic Will Be Restricted In Eastern Poland

A temporary restricted airspace zone will be established in eastern Poland from September 10 through December 9. This was announced by the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command on its page on the social media platform X.

The new restrictions will replace the measures that were in effect from June 10 through September 9 in the same area. According to the command, the zone will extend from the ground to an altitude of about 3 km and will not affect passenger flights, which operate at significantly higher altitudes. The measures are intended to ensure the effective operation of the air defense system in the eastern part of the country, the ministry clarified.

It is noted that a complete flight ban will be in effect in the zone at night, with the exception of military aircraft and approved operations.

Previously, Poland’s Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk stated that the country is preparing for war but hopes it will not break out. According to him, Poland needs to “recognize its strength,” help Ukraine, and “keep Russia at bay.”
