A fight broke out on board a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, which triggered a distress signal, broke out between pilots of Russian and Ukrainian descent, according to an Israeli TV channel Channel 12.

Flydubai confirmed the conflict, noting that it continued until one of the pilots lost consciousness, but did not specify their nationalities.

“There was no safety-related incident,” the airline said in a statement quoted by Channel 12.

A Flydubai Boeing 737 flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv issued a distress signal on the morning of September 30. Initially, the code 7700 was transmitted, followed by code 7500, which is used in the event of a possible hijacking.
