A resident of the capital zharkovskiipavel wrote about a “simple morning tradition” that makes the day a happy one.

“There’s a simple morning tradition in Minsk that’s worth waking up early for,” he writes. “Go outside around eight in the morning, when the air is still crisp and cool, and walk to the little bakery around the corner. The door opens with a soft jingle, and an incredible aroma of fresh, crispy bread, cinnamon, and vanilla wafts out to greet you. An elderly woman behind the counter carefully packs the still-warm pastries into a paper bag, saying, “Be careful—they’re fresh out of the oven—don’t burn yourself! Have a nice day.”

You walk down the street, holding that warm bag in your hands, steam rising from a cup of coffee—and a sense of calm, pure happiness washes over you. It is in these simple little things that the true charm of life lies.”
