Zelenskyy Visited The Front Lines

The President of Ukraine honored the soldiers participating in Operation "Vivaldi" in the Lyman sector.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored soldiers of the 66th Brigade on the Lyman front with state awards.

Today, the head of state visited the command post of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstislav the Brave. There, he met with military personnel carrying out missions in the Lyman sector and presented them with state awards.
Zelenskyy also spoke with the brigade commander. They discussed the tasks being carried out by the unit and the brigade’s needs.
The 66th Brigade is participating in Operation “Vivaldi”. According to Zelenskyy, together with other units of the Third Army Corps, it has already restored Ukrainian control over more than 125 square kilometers of territory.
What was discussed at the meeting
In the Lyman sector, Zelenskyy also held a coordination meeting with corps, brigade, and battalion commanders.
Military officials reported on decisions regarding defense procurement, primarily the acquisition of pickup trucks at the brigade level. They also discussed strengthening the Unmanned Systems Forces, increasing funding for drones, streamlining procurement, expanding personnel, and recruiting and training personnel.
There is a need for long-range artillery; this issue has been agreed upon with the military. Commanders must prepare proposals regarding compensation for soldiers serving on the front lines.
Separately, the president spoke with corps commanders about the situation on the front lines in eastern and southern Ukraine. They discussed the development of drone and anti-drone technologies, as well as new methods of warfare. The conversation also covered the return of soldiers who had left their units without permission, the recruitment of foreign nationals, and logistics.
“All issues at the military command level must be worked out and discussed at a meeting of the General Staff. We are working to ensure that our soldiers have more opportunities to defend our positions,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
