On Wednesday, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki discussed the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The telephone conversation concerned the coordination of the EU response to the current stage of the crisis on the EU external borders. Earlier, the German chancellor had made two phone calls to Lukashenka, reports TVP.

"It should be realized that any direct talks with Lukashenka play into his hands, as they legitimize his regime," said the head of the Polish government.

"Nothing about us without us."

"First of all, I stressed to the Chancellor that no agreement that might concern Poland and the whole situation could be negotiated without our participation - nothing about us without us. This is obvious, and it has been accepted by the chancellor," the Polish prime minister stressed.
