Lukashenka Unanimously Awarded ‘Corruptionist Of The Year’ Title

The award has found its hero.

The Organized Crime and Corruption Research Center (OCCRP) has awarded the title of Person of the Year 2021 to Belarusian dictator Aliaksandr Lukashenka. He received this award for his connivance with organized crime and corruption.

The finalists were ousted Afghan President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, Syrian dictator Bashar Hafez Assad, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and former Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.

A jury of six journalists and anti-corruption experts chose Lukashenka from a record 1,166 candidates nominated by colleagues and readers. For the first time, the “Person of the Year” was chosen unanimously.
