A memorial service for “Charta-97” journalist Konstantin Ivanov will be held at the Dom Pogrzebowy Koperski funeral home in Warsaw, located at ul. Powązkowska 2, at the corner of Okopowa Street. The memorial service will take place on Thursday, October 29, at 11:00 a.m..
Konstantin Ivanov died on October 24 after a serious illness. He was 40 years old.
In the 2000s, Konstantin was one of the most prominent activists in the “Zubr” movement and the “European Belarus” civic campaign in Vitebsk. He was repeatedly detained by security forces during protests.
After the 2010 presidential “elections,” he moved to Poland and worked as a journalist for the website Charter97.org.
Konstantin’s loved ones have launched a fundraiser: the money is needed to hold a farewell ceremony for him in Warsaw, arrange for his cremation, and transport his ashes back to his hometown of Vitebsk.
May Konstantin Ivanov, a true patriot of Belarus, rest in peace.
