"Identification of Karpenkou on the Leaked Tape Holds Far-Reaching Consequences"

  • 3.02.2021, 9:06

Lukashenka's regime is getting closer to its official recognition as a terrorist.

Some time ago, an audio recording was published. The former head of GUBOPiK Mikalai Karpenkou and his colleagues were discussing the results of a meeting in Lukashenka's office.

We learned the regime's top officials ordered law enforcers to kill and maim Belarusians, as well as discussed the issue of creating concentration camps in Belarus.

Yesterday, we received the results of the second independent expertise. It confirms the voice on the recording belongs to Karpenkou. Also, the issue of this audio recording and, in general, developments in Belarus, is on the agenda of the OSCE, reports Puppeteer and Sheep Telegram channel.

Let's discuss the consequences. One should remember that what we hear on the recording not Karpenkou's personal opinion, but his retelling of Lukashenka's meeting. That is, one cannot sell the initiative as Karpenkou's one. Moreover, Karpenkou got a promotion in the hierarchy of the regime after the leaked recording of the conversation. He got the position of the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. That is, Lukashenka showed his satisfaction with Karpenkou's work. It all adds up to a picture when the orders to violence against the Belarusians and the creation of concentration camps are not a private initiative of the executor, but a conscious policy of the regime.

One should note that although the civilized world does not endorse autocrats, everyone knows that some kind of relations should exist between them. That is evil. However, it's an inevitable part of our less-than-ideal world. Lukashenka held this position until 2020.

At the moment, the image of Lukashenka is a moustached dictator in a big-brimmed cap, who uses violence against civilians and builds concentration camps. The associations with one character are all too obvious. When the recording about camps proved authentic, Lukashenka finds himself even further behind the line separating unpleasant but tolerable autocrats from completely unacceptable criminals.

The discussion of the recording on the OSCE platform is another step on a long road to recognition of the regime as a terrorist one. The OSCE is a respected organization of 47 European countries, including Ukraine and Russia. The work to recognize Lukashenka as a criminal in this platform may become a significant contribution to the further isolation of the Belarusian dictatorship.

One cannot but pay attention to the time when the authenticity confirmations appeared. Just on the eve of the debates on the 4th EU sanctions package. Confirmed orders to kill people and build concentration camps are an important trump card for supporters of tougher sanctions. One should note that the European bureaucracy has great inertia. We will observe the real effect in the 5th package of sanctions.

Another curious point is that the voice of Karpenkou for identification of the recording is taken from his public speech on TV. Now, every sycophant will think thrice before telling another lie on the air of the propaganda media.

After all, you never know whose voice will be leaked next. Luckily, the leaks follow in a row.
