Accelerated Self-Destruction of the Regime in Belarus

  • 10.03.2021, 15:04

The blows to power are delivered from the most unexpected directions.

The regime continues to accelerate the destruction of its own system, which it built so "reverently." Moreover, it strikes itself from different directions, sometimes, very unexpected. Over time, people from the environment of the usurper will also feel this.

After all, until the authorities change, the situation will only get worse, political observer Yury Pshennik writes in an article on the Our Opinion website.

Lukashenka does not understand and categorically does not want to accept the fact that the main “destructive center” at the moment is himself and his closest circle. So no matter how many other, mostly imaginary, “subversive centers” are neutralized, the system is still doomed without neutralizing such a main center. At the same time, they can no longer stop, since they have set the task of destroying all the "sedition." But today it is already almost everywhere, well, maybe, except for the security forces. Although this is no longer obvious. Even there, some part is ready to go over to the side of the people. The monolith around the usurper is gone.

Everything living and developing in Belarus automatically became an opponent of this dying system. This can be seen especially clearly in the situation in the economy.

Here is one typical example of scanty profits against the backdrop of gigantic "state support." Zhlobin plant reported for 2020 according to national accounting standards. The company's revenue over the past year decreased by 200 million rubles - to 2.7 billion rubles. Profit from the sale of goods, works, and services amounted to 3.27 million rubles against a loss of 75 million rubles in 2019. At the same time, the plant's net profit reached 36 thousand rubles. A year earlier, the loss amounted to 159 million rubles. Short-term liabilities of BMZ at the end of the year reached 3.85 billion rubles, including short-term loans and borrowings - 1.5 billion rubles. As of September 1, 2020, the plant had overdue debts of over 321 million rubles.

It turns out that one, far from the most outstanding IT specialist or entrepreneur, generates a net profit that exceeds that of BMZ, the "titanic of the industry." And without state subsidies, debt cancellation, and other things, partially masking the real non-competitiveness of the "state giant."

Or more. "You can't think of a more efficient way to crash the economy," experts write about the "freeze" of prices. Both the anti-private business campaign and tight price controls are themselves powerful weapons for economic disruption. The "super economist" decided to apply the two methods together for reliability. In theory, this should be guaranteed to ruin the economy.

If you want to stop the rise in prices for medicines, for example, you should sell them in public pharmacies cheaper than in private ones. This is the most reliable way to regulate. Nobody will go to a private owner - he will either close or lower prices. But this is not our way. In public pharmacies, prices are found to be higher than in private ones. And so, under the guise of fighting price increases, they decide to close those places where the goods are cheaper. At the same time, it is clear that if state pharmacies remain monopolists, drug prices will generally become prohibitive. Or, many medicines (first of all, good, imported ones) will disappear. Or both together. Here is such an interesting struggle against rising prices looms. And this is not only with pharmacies - in the same way, it is ordered to "reduce" the rest of the prices. As a result, retail chains are leaving our market one after another. And there are rising prices and shortages ahead.

The process of dispossession of banks is also continuing, allegedly in the interest of saving the "titanics of the industry." At the same time, Lukashenka sometimes says that he is dispossessing "fat" bankers solely for the good of the people. But in banks today we have no real money, except for depositors' money. After all, state-owned enterprises de facto do not carry money to banks; on the contrary, they take it out of there in the form of loans, forcible selling of "garbage" shares to banks, placement of bonds, etc. As a result, there is a robbery of the people, depositors under the brand name of their protection from dishonest bankers.

All this is reminiscent of the policy of War Communism. And, as history teaches, such a policy is definitely a disaster for the country. Even the Bolsheviks at one time understood this and abandoned it.

Of course, there is a chance that the ruling class will not be able to bring this line to its logical conclusion. For example, the "brutal" fight against corruption for a quarter of a century has not led to any noticeable results. There is still no success in the long-term struggle with intermediaries, prices are frozen regularly, but they are thawed just as regularly. Only incomes are stable - in the sense that they are consistently less than the promised "500 for everyone." And we are steadily moving towards the status of the poorest state in Europe. We have already reached this level in terms of the minimum wage, and we are confidently approaching the average.

To the picture of the collapse of the economy, the regime adds sketches of self-exposure and unmasking and more and more reveals its true nature to Belarusians and the whole world. Accordingly, it is increasingly self-isolating, both from the people of Belarus in particular and from civilization in general. And hits itself, blow after blow. Everything that has been so long and carefully built up is now rapidly being destroyed. People would like to be faster, but the regime is not getting faster yet. Maybe they will speed up in the near future?
