Bank BelVEB has a new head. The website of the financial institution informs that Taras Nadolny is the Acting Head of the Board. Yesterday, Vasili Matyushevsky was appointed head of the bank. Meanwhile, Nasha Niva reports that Matyushevsky has resigned.
On the morning of April 25, the website of BelVEB showed former Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vasili Matyushevsky as chairman of the board. On April 26, his name was removed from the list of the bank managers. Taras Nadolny, who had previously been Matyushevsky's first deputy, became acting head of the board.
It is not known yet whether the head of the board left upon his own will or not.
The banker and former Deputy Prime Minister, as well as seven other members of the Board of Directors of BelVEB were detained by law enforcers less than a month ago. Matyushevsky and several of his deputies were released. Matyushevsky was released "to quickly find funds to compensate for damage".
Officially, the reason for the detention has not yet been named.
