The legendary musician supported the Belarusian journalist.

Political prisoner journalist Katsiaryna Andreyeva received a letter from the leader of the DDT band Yuri Shevchuk in the Homel pre-trial detention center.

As her husband Ihar Ilyash writes, Katsiaryna admits in a letter that she was very touched by this cute author's cartoon and words of support — “her eyes were even filled with tears”.

“Support from the best, in my opinion, modern Russian poet and favorite performer, a worthy person and citizen, is something that incredibly strengthens the spirit. I will reveal a little secret: from the moment I lost the opportunity to listen to my playlist, a selection of favorite songs moved into my memory, and DDT always played in my head at the sharpest turns of the route. Most often, “Freedom”, “Dead City”, “Captain Kolesnikov”, “That's all”, and after I was convicted for “treason” and got extra 8 years in jail (although all of them are extra) — of course, “Motherland” ... And thank you so much for your anti-war stance. I believe that “God respects us”.
