‘Nick And Mike’: New Year's Strike On Makiivka Seriously Upset Lukashenka

The New Year’s strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Makiivka(which resulted in the death of several hundred mobilized newbies) seriously upset not only the Kremlin, but also Minsk. The problem is that in the territory controlled by the junta, there may be dozens of such Makiivkas, if anything, the Nick and Mike Telegram channel writes.

The logic of deploying troops in the two armies is the same, and no one learns from mistakes even during the 10th month of the war. Despite the fact that the Makiivkas of the junta (for example, military airfields on the border with Ukraine) continue to recover and expand according to the canons of peacetime. If the war comes to Belarus in the format of a retaliatory strike (and this is possible either in the event of another massive missile and shahed strike or a ground offensive from the territory of the country), the consequences will be catastrophic, primarily for the military infrastructure.

So far, a very delicate balance has been maintained. Training camps, training grounds, supply bases, airfields and even factories working for the war on the territory of Belarus are geographically located in the affected area, but in fact it is still the safest place. The red lines are outlined, but their transition is far from fully dependent on the blue-fingered old man.

A characteristic feature of both regimes is that in the current situation it is impossible to draw “organizational conclusions” from the attack on Makiivka. Reshuffles in the military bloc in the form of the resignation of the same reindeer breeder Shoigu, who was partying hard at the corporate party at the time of the strike on the Russian base, are unacceptable, since this will cause additional fermentation within the system. And there is already an aggravation between the army men and Prigozhin’s men, who are situationally supported by the Kadyrovites.

However, replace with whom? Professionals have long been substituted by loyal clowns.

All this gives an extra opportunity for Ukraine. Given the regimes’ internal features, there will be more Makiivkas. And each such new case causes discord in the system of loyalty to the regime. It remains only to act in the old fashioned way — to throw meat. So, a new wave of graves is coming.

They can discuss Makiivka for a long time in the palace at closed meetings with the power bloc, but this will not change the situation. Khrenin’s mantras in the style of “it’s impossible here” are somewhat reassuring, but they don’t work.
