Media: Son Of Former Belarusian Minister Of Energy Was Detained For Post In Support Of Ukraine

A criminal case has been opened against Siarhei Patupchyk.

Deputy General Director of Belorusneft Sergei Potupchik was detained because of a message in support of Ukraine.

On February 26, 2022, Patupchyk left a message on his Instagram page: “F**k war. Kyiv in my heart!”. It was this post that became the reason for the detention. The Flahshtok Telegram channel reported according to a source familiar with the situation.

The arrest took place at the end of last year. Then, his Instagram page was closed. Everything was supposed to be done in days. But today it became known that a criminal case has been opened against Patupchyk. There are no official statements about the detention of the deputy general director of Belorusneft, Siarhei Patupchyk, and the charges are not known.
