Poland To Hold Military Exercises Near Border With Belarus, Russia

Fire nests will be set up in some places.

On Friday, the Polish army will start the exercise ŻUBR-23, which will take place on the ranges and territory of four border voivodeships: Podlasie, Mazowieckie, Lubelskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie.

According to the General Command of the Armed Forces, the purpose of the exercise is to strengthen co-operation between the army and local administrations, as well as to test the combat effectiveness of units. During the exercise, soldiers and hardware will move around the territory of the four voivodships, and firing nests will be set up in some places. They will test situation response systems and alarm sirens in co-operation with local services.

The Polish Army will be supported by the police and fire brigade.
