Provocation By Russia: Kazakhstan's Baikonur Residents Receive Russian Passports
- 7.02.2023, 10:55
This has caused a wave of indignation among the citizens of Kazakhstan.
The Russian Consulate in Almaty is going to accept applications from the residents of Baikonur for Russian citizenship of children, one of whose parents is a Russian citizen, the other is a foreigner.
This was reported in Telegram by journalist and independent expert Azamat Maitanov.
He published the relevant documents sent by local residents. There is already a list of names of Kazakhs who have been approved for Russian citizenship.
"I believe that such actions of the Russian authorities pose a threat to Kazakhstan's national security and bear the danger of preconditions for separatism in Baykonur and other regions of the country (like the so-called DPR/LPR in Eastern Ukraine)," Maitanov says.
Kazakhstanis are outraged by the actions of the aggressor country.
"We are talking about Baikonur; they want to make it a completely Russian city. Give them passports, and hello "DPR". Why does our state allow Russia to interfere in the internal affairs of our country?", users commented on the news.
