Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk’s medal was there.

The Rada of the Belarusian Democratic Republic (the BDR Rada) awarded the relatives of political prisoners, as well as those who died in Ukraine and during the Belarusian 2020 protests, medals of the Order of Pahonia. The ceremony was held in Warsaw on the International Day of Solidarity with Political Prisoners in Belarus.

Yauhen Vapa was the BDR’s advisor for many years, and he presented the awards:

– The Rada of the Belarusian Democratic Republic awards the Pahonia Medals to those who suffer and die for the idea. History called us, like the founding fathers of the BDR. Unfortunately, one has to die for the Belarusian cause. This is a sacrifice that no nation has escaped.

Seven out of eight medals were awarded. The medals were posthumously received by the relatives of Eduard Lobau, Mikita Krautsou and Raman Bandarenka.

Medals were received for political prisoners Uladzimir Hundar, Dzianis Ivashyn and Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk. It should be noted that the medal for Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was received by her husband, an activist of the European Belarus civil campaign Andrei Sharenda.

Darya Chultsova was awarded personally. Vasil Hrudavik's medal will be handed over to his relatives.
