The Ukrainian military is continuing its attacks near Bakhmut. Our defenders have also advanced near the village of Staromayorske in the Donetsk region.
RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to the spokesman of the AFU General Staff Andriy Kovalev on the air of the telethon.
He noted that Ukrainian troops are continuing offensive operations in three directions of the front, namely towards Bakhmut, Melitopol and Berdyansk. Ukrainian soldiers are consolidating on the achieved borders, working with artillery on the identified enemy targets.
"They have achieved success in the area of Staromayorske. They are consolidating on the achieved borders. At the same time, the enemy continues to put up strong resistance, carries out the movement of units, actively uses reserves," the spokesman said.
The AFU are also conducting offensive operations to the north and south of Bakhmut.
In addition, the AFU are holding back the offensive of the Russian troops in the direction of Kupyansk and Lyman.
"The enemy is putting up strong resistance, using reserves and suffering significant losses. Heavy fighting continues. Over the past 24 hours, 28 military clashes have taken place," Kovalev added.
The AFU offensive
This week the AFU reported successes in the area of Staromayorske. Ukrainian defenders managed to advance 500 metres along the front line. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also hinted at the successes of Ukrainian troops. He added that the news would come later.
At the same time, the New York Times notes that the AFU are intensifying its offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region. The defenders of Ukraine want to cut off the occupiers' "land route" to Crimea.
