At almost every gas station.
In the Moscow region, residents continue to wait in long lines to get gas following Ukraine’s strikes on oil refineries.
This was reported by Astra.
One reader reported that “there are lines at almost every gas station.”
One of the lines formed at a “Gazprom Neft” station in Yegoryevsk, and traffic jams leading to other gas stations were also observed.
At the same time, gasoline prices are rising, though not at all gas stations, journalists note. For example, at some stations, the average price per liter of gasoline does not exceed 72 rubles (44 hryvnias), while at others, it has surpassed 85 rubles (52 hryvnias).
A Historic Attack on Moscow
On the morning of June 18, the Russian capital came under a massive drone attack. Large-scale fires and heavy smoke are being reported in the city, particularly in the area of the Moscow Oil Refinery, located in the Kapotnya district.
This is the second attack on this facility in the past two days. On June 16, the Moscow Oil Refinery was also attacked by Ukrainian drones. As noted by the Security Service, the UAVs damaged the “heart of the plant”—a key crude oil refining unit.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed a second strike on the refinery, located approximately 15 km from the Kremlin. According to the military command, the attack caused large-scale fires at the facility in at least five locations; in particular, oil refining units and the tank farm are on fire.
The Moscow Oil Refinery has a processing capacity of more than 12 million metric tons of oil per year. The General Staff emphasizes that the plant plays a key role in supplying the Russian military.
The attack on Moscow on June 18 became one of the most successful missions involving the use of Ukrainian missile drones.
