Italian Authorities Froze Assets Of Belarusians

The assets of Russians were also frozen.

The Italian authorities have frozen bank accounts, movable and immovable property and other assets of Russians and Belarusians in the amount of about €2 billion following the sanctions imposed by the EU. Enzo Serata, the Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit for Italy announced it, according to ANSA agency.

“As of the end of June this year, 170 financial transactions for 80 entities were frozen. The total amount of frozen funds is more than €330 million,” said Serata.

According to the European Commission, about €200 billion of assets of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and about €24 billion of private funds are frozen in the EU in total.
