The Ukrainian Armed Forces are targeting the Russian "penal battalion" with mortars.
Russian mobilized from the Primorye Territory are being forcibly sent to Kleshcheyivka near Bakhmut, where fierce battles are currently taking place and, according to media reports, Russians are leaving the settlement under the onslaught of the AFU.
Soldiers of the 71289 (Yakutia) military unit had been fighting in Zaporizhzhia Region (Energodar) since December 2022, but on June 11 they were removed from their positions and redeployed under Bakhmut, to Kleshcheyivka.
The occupiers complain that they were sent directly to the front line, where they spent 15 days.
The footage of the invaders' statement is published by the Ukraine 365 TG channel.
"The spokesman" of the Russian military said the 14 men were fraudulently "taken to the very frontline" where the scouts were based.
"My men were under constant mortar fire for more than 15 hours. As a result, we suffered losses: one man - "200th", one man - "300th"," he accused his command of deception.
If we believe the occupant's words, they were at the positions without air and artillery support, the radio and electronic warfare was not working.
At that time, the Ukrainian armed forces were conducting reconnaissance using UAVs and then targeting them with mortars.
"All this time we had no opportunity to hide," the Russian occupiers complained.
On July 2, the Russian military were ordered to retreat, but without artillery support. The invaders claim to have travelled 30km on their own under AFU fire and to have suffered serious losses.
Now they are being sent back to Kleshcheyivka, with threats to disband the battalion and send the soldiers to the "Storm Z" unit formed from ex-convicts.
The soldiers say that, "it's essentially a penal unit".
"We ask you to withdraw us to the territory of the Russian Federation to investigate the illegally given order to actually destroy us," the Russian occupiers complain.
